Florida Beaches by Region

Northwest

  • Pensacola Located at the west end of the Florida panhandle, the area is best known for its many miles of pristine snow-white coast. Dunes decorated with delicate sea oats accent the coast. With the expansive stretch it is easy to find a secluded spot away from it all.


  • Panama City Among the best in Florida nearly 20 miles long with fine sugar-white sand, relatively warm and generally calm seas. In the summer the water is often crystal clear with a beautiful emerald-green hue.



Northeast

  • Jacksonville another 20 mile stretch of beautiful coast along the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Swimming, surfing, windsurfing, surf fishing and sunning are popular along the coastal communities of Mayport, Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach and Jacksonville. There is also a 1,000 foot long fishing pier that accommodates fishermen and sightseers. It has a restaurant and gift shop on premises.


  • St. Augustine long stretches of hard-packed sand which are bordered with beautiful natural dunes. Driving is permitted on the hard sand in some areas. Swimming, surfing, sunning and fishing are popular here.



West Central

  • Clearwater Clearwater Beach is the centerpiece of a number of equally beautiful spots to its north and south. One can find popular and very active or quiet and relaxing beaches.


  • St. Petersburg St. Pete Beach is seven miles long with the fine white sand that so typifies the west-central coast.


  • Bradenton Along the blue-green waters of the Gulf of Mexico and into Tampa Bay are stretches of fine Florida beaches - many which are shaded by tall Australian Pines.



Southeast

  • Miami Miami Beach is a strip of fine golden sand with emerald waters. People flock to Miami for business, sun, sand and entertainment - this place really rocks!


  • Fort Lauderdale Continuing north from Miami, Fort Lauderdale Beach is a pleasant strip of sand accentuated with palms and numerous parks.



Southwest

  • Fort Myers A world of tropical beauty and wildlife, white sand with dozens of islands to explore. The area is a playground of beaches. Fort Myers, Bonita Beach, Sanibel Island, Captiva are just a few excellent places to enjoy the sand, sea and sun.


  • Fort Myers Sanibel Island is known for its excellent shelling. It is also home to "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge.


  • Naples   Tropical beauty, snow white and soft sandy beaches are the hallmark of Naples coastline.  Many public access points make easy access.
